Dear Diary,
Today is Thursday, August 16.
I woke up at 6:00 to run my morning one mile run. I stretched to feel prepared for the workout ahead of me. Running helps me to feel refreshed, healthy, and in shape. One mile sounds short and easy, but for me, the run makes me tired. I listen to my iPod to keep me focused on music instead of the distance. I felt stronger in each stride. I kept my pace and sprinted at the end toward the house. I became out of breath when I entered the house. I rested on my bed while I stretched and woke up my bunny, the lights were turned on and cage opened. She looked awake and happy to see me.
My brother promised he would play Stone Soup if I played Stratego with him. I won both times! Stone Soup took a while, and I lost. Not my best! I took a shower, and I became excited, for our family would ride the train to the Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinatti Reds game. We arrived late, but picked up our tickets and the score was 4 to 4.
I bought Nachos, Popcorn, and a Lemon Smoothie. The final score resulted in 12 to 4. The Cubs won! An interesting and fun outing for the afternoon.
I saw my friends on the train on the way back home, the twins Caroline and Amanda. I chatted with them about their summer and the upcoming school year. We start September 5! I waved goodbye and received an urgent text message from my friend Mary. I had texted her about the Cubs score; her family were big Cubs fans. I couldn't call her on the train, so I decided I would call her when I arrived home.
When we arrived home, we started to watch "Akeelah and the Bee" and have dinner, so I called Mary afterward. She explained her news. I listened, gasped and told her my thoughts about the situation.
Our call ended only a couple of minutes ago, and I am about to read Harry Potter. My dad and I have read the books together for years, and we have started the 6th now, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". I am excited to read "Deathly Hallows"!
We'd better continue reading! Goodnight readers! I will write more on Saturday!
